This qualification reflects the role of individuals with significant expertise in either specialized or broad areas of skills and knowledge and who are seeking further developed expertise across a range of business functions. This qualification is also suited to the needs of individuals who possess significant theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to further develop in order to create further educational or employment opportunities. Students may be eligible for course credits with Victoria University's towards their Bachelor of Business (Accounting or Information Systems) or with another quality university on a similar based course. This would not only reduce the amount of time needed to study but will provide students with a firm foundation in the field. Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include: senior administrator, and senior executive.

Students may enter the qualification through a number of entry points demonstrating potential to undertake vocational education and training at advanced diploma level, including: after achieving BSB50207 Diploma of Business or other relevant qualification/s or providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB50207 Diploma of Business or other relevant qualification/s or with substantial vocational experience in a range of environments, acting in a range to senior support or technical roles. International students must have English language requirements of: IELTS 5.5 (with no individual band less than 5.0) or equivalent.
