This course is an exciting and unique course in South Australia that will give students the skills to support change and growth in some of the most important areas of modern society. Students will combine core topics in GIS, remote sensing and information technology with their choice of a major sequence in the area where students would like to work. Popular majors include biology, geography, earth sciences, environmental studies, archaeology and criminal justice. Industry placements in third year will help students develop contacts and work skills. It appeals to students who enjoy computing, graphics and digital mapping and would like to use these skills to tackle real-world problems. This course is designed to prepare students for a variety of career paths related to the capture, synthesis, analysis and communication of spatially related information. Employment opportunities exist in natural resource management, the environment, conservation, urban and regional planning, primary industries, defence, law enforcement and many other disciplines. This course provides the following combined degree options: Bachelor of Business and Technology; and Master of Business and Technology.

Students can qualify for undergraduate courses through: year 12 qualifications; adult entry (STAT); TAFE/VET qualifications; and higher education transfers. They should have IELTS (academic) score of 6.0 (6.0 in speaking and writing); TOEFL (paper) score of 550 (TWE 4.5); TOEFL (internet) score of 80 (20 in writing and speaking); Cambridge (CAE) Grade of B or higher; Cambridge (CPE) Grade of C or higher; Pearson English Test overall score of 59 with no communication score less than 53.
