Ringkasan program
This combined program enables students to pursue studies to third-year level in humanities and/or social sciences units of study and also obtain a qualification to practice as a social worker. The course integrates studies in the social sciences, social policy and social work theory and practice, with a strong emphasis on Australian and comparative social welfare studies. Students may also take majors in areas such as sociology, social policy, gender and cultural studies, philosophy and many more. In the last two years of the course they undertake the professional social work program, which includes fieldwork placements supervised by highly skilled and experienced practitioners in a variety of settings. These placements are an essential part of the course. Graduates have a wide range of opportunities in such fields as housing, health, social security, aged care, family welfare, programs for people with disabilities, and services for migrant communities. They can find employment in a variety of settings in the public, private and community sector, including local, state and federal government departments and agencies, public hospitals, community health and welfare organisations, community-based neighbourhood and resource centres, advocacy and self-help groups, and welfare rights organisations.

Students must have an acceptable secondary qualification from their high school studies (or at least one year of tertiary studies). They must satisfy IELTS score of 6.5 (min 6.0 in each band) or TOEFL minimum result of 577 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in writing or IBT score of 90 overall including a minimum result of 22 in reading, listening and speaking and 23 in writing).
