This course aims to provide both a liberal education and skills development focused on managerial decision making, business and personal leadership, the ethics of values-based management and relevant work experience. It is designed for students who wish to combine the benefits of a liberal education with specific skills focusing on accounting, financial services, human resource management, business or marketing. Students can study from the following areas under their Bachelor of Arts program: Asian Studies, Australian Studies, Business Studies, Drama, East Timor Language and Cultural Studies, Economics, Geography, History, Literature, Mathematics, Media, Music, Philosophy, Politics, Psychology, Sociology, Technology, Theological Studies, and Visual Arts. Graduate career opportunities in a range of business-related fields will be broadened by generic communication and problem-solving skills developed in the Bachelor of Arts component of the combined degree course. The various career paths are accounting firms, advertising, employment relations, financial management, human resource management, international trade and investment, marketing management, marketing research, personal investment, policy administration and retailing and wholesaling. In Sydney the course is offered over two campuses. Students undertake four commerce units in years one and two at the Strathfield Campus and the remainder of the commerce units in years three and four at the North Sydney campus. An honours degree in arts or business is available for high-achieving students. This course deals with accounting major in commerce.
