This program provides major studies in welfare theory and practice. This course will prepare students for employment in a wide variety of welfare and social services in government and non-government agencies. While generic skills are developed, attention is given to the complexities of working in non-urban areas in welfare and community work positions. Intensive studies and skill development in the areas of individual and family counselling, group work, community work practice, public policy analysis and human service management are included. A feature of the course is the 15-week practical fieldwork experience in welfare agencies. In addition to their welfare major, students will also choose a major in psychology or the social sciences. Graduates may also continue onto postgraduate studies in psychology or education as well as welfare.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have completed VCE including prerequisites Units 3 and 4 English (any); interstate or international equivalent and mature age entry. They must have overall band score of 6.0, with no individual sub-score less than 5.5 in IELTS and a TOFEL score of 550, including the Test of Written English (TWE) or A score of 213 in the computer based test or a minimum score of 79 in the internet based test (with scores not less than 20 in writing and speaking and 18 in reading and listening)
