The tourism, leisure and events industries employ thousands of people in a diverse range of roles, both within Australia and overseas. In this program students learn tourism, leisure and event management skills while gaining broad business knowledge through foundation courses in accounting, economics, marketing, and management. Tourism courses cover event management, tourism management, tourist behaviour, sustainable tourism, tourism, technology and innovation, and policy, planning and development. Courses link with the tourism industry, with guest speakers, field visits and other industry activities. By undertaking an internship in leading organisations, they apply learning and theory to develop their practical skills. Career opportunities include Managerial positions in leisure centres, tour operations, resorts and recreation, sports facility management, event coordination, marketing and public relations, policy and planning. Graduates may become members of the Australian Tourism Research Institute; Pacific Area Travel Association; Ecotourism Association of Australia; the Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have completed Australian Year 12 with good grades and must have prior knowledge in English and Maths. Students must satisfy any one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in all subtests; a TOEFL score (paper-based test) of at least 550, with essay score of 4; TOEFL score (internet-based test) of at least 76, with a minimum writing score 18 or successful completion of Direct Entry English Pathway, with a minimum grade of 65 percent.
