This course aims to provides students with the knowledge and skills to become designers and developers within the creative industries by allowing them to specialise in Web Development and Design, New Media Design, Communication Design or Contemporary Music. The course focuses on high-end technologies, software and theories to enable students to become multi-skilled professionals, and creative graduates in areas such as animation, video production, communication, interactive design, graphic design, digital media, film, television, gaming, music, sound and web design. It is part of a suite of professional creative courses for the cultural industries available through Charles Darwin University which enables students to also take suites of study from the creative study options in Music, Fine Arts and Communications. Within each of these discipline pathways, there are alternative study plans that allow a student to explore a particular strength. Opportunities to develop and apply creative industries skills and knowledge are facilitated by an emphasis on seeking solutions for a range of real world projects and challenges. Graduates can work in areas such as computer arts, communication, interactive design, gaming, graphic design, digital media, film, television, music, sound and web.
