This degree provides a specialisation in the understanding of young children and a teaching qualification for those wishing to work with children from birth through to age twelve. This degree will appeal to they if they are interested in a career as an early childhood teacher. Early childhood teachers work with children, families and communities to provide quality educational experiences for young children from birth through the primary school years. Early childhood teachers are also sought after for consultancy and professional development work in the area of children’s services. Career opportunities: Graduates may find employment in a range of settings such as long day-care centres, preschools and primary schools.

Students should have a sound knowledge of Mathematics and English. Students should have IELTS (Academic English only): Minimum score of 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in each section; TOEFL (paper based test): Minimum score of 570 overall, with 53 Listening, 52 Reading, 59 Structure/ Written Expression, 4.5 TWE; TOEFL (internet based test): Minimum score of 90 overall, with 20 Listening, 20 Reading, 22 Writing, 20 Speaking.
