This dual degree program integrates both the electrical engineering and mathematics degrees. Mathematics and engineering have always had close connections, but recent advancements in mathematics and statistics are increasingly being used to help solve complex engineering problems. Students study the design, research, development, planning, manufacture and management of electrical systems and devices. They can specialize in applied mathematics, discrete mathematics, financial mathematics, mathematical modelling, operations research, scientific computation and visualization, and statistics. Career outcomes for engineering/mathematics double degree students include working in the power industry, robotics, manufacturing and mining. Career opportunities are also found in the telecommunications industry, transport sector, computer industry and transmission industries. This course has professional accreditation from Engineers Australia (EA).

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students from India should have obtained CBSE Year XII with at least 80 per cent average grade. Students from other countries should have specific country wise requirements equivalent to Australia. They must have sound knowledge in the area of English, Maths B. They must have achieved this study at a level comparable to Australian Year 12 or in recognised post-secondary studies (English (4, SA) and Maths B (4, SA)). Recommended studies are chemistry, maths C and physics. They must also meet English proficiency requirements with IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 6.5 and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language overall score of 90.0.
