In this double degree program graduates can combine the concepts of Telecommunications engineering with finance enabling them to confront challenging and exciting careers. Telecommunications engineering is concerned with the technologies that underpin modern voice, multimedia and data communications. Telecommunications engineers are responsible for the design, construction, maintenance and evolution of systems from business data networks to global voice and data communications. Relevant technologies include: transmission systems such as optical fibre, satellites, cellular networks, Internet Protocol networks and digital television; digital representation of audio, video and other multimedia; and the control, design and analysis of massive communications networks. Potential careers includes Manager / Business Management, Network Engineer, Radio Engineer, Satellite Engineer, Software Engineer, Telecommunications Analyst, Telecommunications Engineer, Broadcaster, Remote Sensing and GIS, Resource Management. There is a broad coverage of the specialised financial institutions, their asset classes, and the markets in which the different assets are traded. Areas of study include financial markets, valuation issues, international trade and finance, financial modelling and financial management.

Students should have completed SACE stage 2 in Mathematical Studies, Physics plus one of Specialist Mathematics or Chemistry and they should have completed IB in either Mathematics (HL grade 3) and Physics (SL grade 4/HL grade 3); or, Chemistry (SL grade 4/HL grade 3), Physics (SL grade 4/HL grade 3) and Mathematics (SL grade 4/HL grade 3). They should also satisfy the English language requirements such as: IELTS score of 6 (Reading score of 5.5, Listening score of 5.5, Speaking score of 6 and writing score of 6).
