In this course students gain the skills and knowledge required to work as a fashion designer of the future with this bachelor degree. This course covers all aspects of fashion business as well as the technical and creative knowledge required for the industry. They will learn about fashion history, design elements and principles, garment making and pattern construction and their application in the industry and within the mores and social constructs that exist. They will learn about industry specific software to develop sustainable design in response to global sourcing challenges. The technical elements of bespoke garment construction, mass production and refined pattern construction methods are also covered to give them an understanding of how style, shape and structure create innovative products. Graduates of this course can expect to be employed in the industry as fashion designers, pattern technicians, product developers, illustrators, trend forecasters, fashion journalists, fashion buyers, fashion merchandisers and product developers. They can also prepare them for further post graduate study options such as Master of Design or Masters of Arts etc.

Students must have Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass, however relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered. They must satisfy IELTS overall score of 6.0 (Academic) with no band less than 5.5 and TOEFL score of 550 for paper examination; 213 for computer based and 79 for Internet based.
