This new degree provides foundation learning in health science with major study options in health promotion, health industry/hospital management and health informatics. The course develops a broad critical understanding of knowledge, intellectual and cultural curiosity, and a range of skills such as computing, problem solving, interpersonal skills and discipline specific communications skills. Graduates will find careers in health promotion, and health policy and management, working in government and non-government organisations such as community health or divisions of general practice, as well as in research and policy development.

Students must have academic Year 12, International Baccalaureate or equivalent academic qualification. VCE prerequisites units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English. International Baccalaureate subject prerequisites include a score of at least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL. They must have achieved the following English language proficiency test results: IELTS (minimum test score of 6.5 overall; no individual band less than 6.0); Paper-based TOEFL (minimum test score of 580; a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5); Internet-based TOEFL (a score of at least 90 overall; a Writing score of at least 22; no score lower than 20 on the other sections of the test); Cambridge English CAE (A grade); Cambridge English CEP (C grade).
