Ringkasan program
This course gives students the skills and knowledge to prevent and treat disorders of the foot and ankle. Students also learn to treat patients with complex medical conditions such as diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis, and to work in specialised areas of podiatry such as sports injuries, paediatrics and surgery. Students' strong theoretical knowledge is enhanced through extensive clinical training; they are directly involved in treating patients at La Trobe University's podiatry clinic and undertake external placements at hospitals, health centres and private practices. Major areas of study include: Podiatry, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and pharmacology. On completion, students can work as sole practitioners or part of a multidisciplinary team. Many develop private practices in conjunction with other healthcare professionals, such as GPs or physiotherapists. Students at Albury-Wodonga, Mildura and Shepparton campuses must transfer to Bendigo after first year.

Students must have completed two of Biology, Chemistry, Year 12 Mathematics or Physics. They must have completed Australian year 12 or equivalent to other countries. They must also satisfy one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0 or TOEFL Paper-based Test: a minimum score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English or TOEFL Computer-based Test: a minimum score of 213 with a score of 5 in essay writing or TOEFL Internet-based Test: a minimum score of 80 with no individual score less than 20 or satisfactory completion of an English language subject at Year 12 or equivalent level which have been completed in the last two years and at an academic level acceptable to the University or approved equivalent.
