Ringkasan program
This course provides a broad-based knowledge of normal development, the anatomy and function of the human body, causes and types of communication and swallowing disorders, along with practical skills in prevention and treatment strategies. Clinical experience comprises a major component of the course. In this curriculum, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) examines speech pathology cases and is presented in a variety of formats such as printed case notes, computer-based examples, video or audio samples, simulated patients. Major areas of study include: speech pathology, physiology and anatomy. On completion, graduates are likely to find positions in hospitals, community health centres, private practice, schools, rehabilitation centres and aged-care centres, and in specialised centres - helping people with hearing impairment, cerebral palsy and intellectual disability. Other possible areas of employment include health promotion, teaching and consultancy work in the areas of communication and presentation. Students at Albury-Wodonga, Mildura and Shepparton campuses must transfer to Bendigo after first year and part time study option is not recommended in final 2 years.

Students must have completed one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Year 12 Mathematics. They must have completed Australian year 12 or equivalent to other countries. They must also satisfy one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0 or TOEFL Paper-based Test: a minimum score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English or TOEFL Computer-based Test: a minimum score of 213 with a score of 5 in essay writing or TOEFL Internet-based Test: a minimum score of 80 with no individual score less than 20 or satisfactory completion of an English language subject at Year 12 or equivalent level which have been completed in the last two years and at an academic level acceptable to the University or approved equivalent.
