Ringkasan program
The combined program is a seven-year course of study which leads to registration as a general medical practitioner. This course combines the three-year undergraduate Bachelor of Medical Science course with the University's prestigious four-year graduate medical program (MBBS). The combination of science and medicine subjects offers the opportunity to develop a strong background in the sciences, with some flexibility for studying units from other faculties. In the first three years undertaking the Bachelor of Medical Science, students will study the basic sciences as well as clinical sciences, giving them a background in the structure and function of the human body and disease. From their first year of the MBBS, they will have contact with patients and observe the physical aspects of disease, which continues to final year. The medical curriculum emphasises practical delivery with much of the program using problem-based learning with contextually relevant medical issues as the foundation of the course. After graduation, they can pursue a career in medicine that either involves general practice or specialisation in their area of interest. They might also wish to pursue a career in medical research, teaching, medical administration, medical communication or journalism. Majors include agricultural chemistry, anatomy and histology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, biology, cell pathology, chemistry, computational science, computer science, environmental studies, financial mathematics and statistics, geography, geology and geophysics, history and philosophy of science, immunobiology, information systems, marine science, mathematics, medicinal chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology and genetics, nanoscience and technology, neuroscience, pharmacology, physics, physiology, plant sciences, psychology, soil science, statistics.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students must have an acceptable secondary qualification from their high school studies (or at least one year of tertiary studies). They must satisfy IELTS minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band or TOEFL minimum result of 577 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in writing or IBT minimum result of 90 overall including a minimum result of 22 in reading, listening and speaking and 23 in writing.
