This double degree provides students with an in-depth understanding of the exciting disciplines of politics and international relations. Students will learn about the workings of political institutions in countries around the world and explore the complex field of relations between nations. Topics in governance, public policy, public administration, national security and border control ensure that students receive a broad and current education in the range of issues which are covered under the label of politics and international relations. Graduates from the course can expect to find employment opportunities in a wide range of organisations and posts including business and international organisations, State and Federal government, non-government agencies, government administration and planning, national and international business, political research organisations, international, political and security analysis, foreign affairs, international development organisations, the intelligence community, diplomatic service, as policy analysts and psychologists.

Students should satisfy normal UC requirements for admission to an undergraduate course. African students should have A levels 2 x Cs or better, A levels 3 x Ds or better or qualifications deemed equivalent. Students of Bangladesh should have A levels 2 x Cs or better, A levels 3 x Ds or better, or qualifications deemed equivalent or completion of at least one year of study at a recognised University with satisfactory grades. Chinese students should have completed at least one year of study at a recognized university with satisfactory grades. Indian students should have completed all India Senior School Certificate with a minimum overall grade of C1 in the best of four academic subjects or A levels 2 x Cs or better, A levels 3 x Ds or better or University of Cambridge Higher School Certificate (two principle 'C' level passes). They must also have the following English language requirements: IELTS: an overall minimum score of 6.5 or better is required. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Paper test: an overall minimum score of 550 with a minimum score of 4.5 in the TWE or TOEFL Computer test: an overall minimum score of 213, with a minimum in Essay rating of 5.
