Ringkasan program
This course provides the research, technology and information for the sustainable, profitable and ethical development of the agricultural industry. Studies in agriculture include soil science, genetics, cropping and pasture systems, soil-plant interaction, livestock production, agricultural economics and agribusiness. A major in Agricultural Science will provide the tools to address the complex factors that shape agricultural systems. Career opportunities range from the laboratory to the field, from the city to rural areas, as breeders, agronomist, farm managers, market development officers, journalists and bankers. Graduates are employed as consultants, managers or researchers, by government agencies, universities, consulting firms, food industries, fertilizer companies, and international agencies. Students with an Agricultural Science major can pursue further studies at honors level and/or at master’s level. The Master of Science can be done either by Coursework (for example, Agricultural Science, Plant Science, Animal Science, Genetics and Breeding or Biotechnology) or by Research (Thesis and Coursework in, for example, Agribusiness).

Students must have completed Western Australian Universities Preparatory Program (WAUPP) with a score of 63, International Baccalaureate with a score of 29, French Baccalaureate with a score of 12, UWA Foundation Program (UWAFP) with a score of 66, GCE or Cambridge Advanced-level Examinations with a score of 8. To be eligible for admission to a program at UWA, they must demonstrate satisfactory performance in a UWA-approved test of English. This is the case even if English is their first language. They must also have WA Certificate of Education in English, Literature or English as an additional language/dialect with scaled mark of 50 or above, in stage 2 or stage 3. TEE English/English Literature with scaled mark of 50 or above English as a Second Language with final mark of 66.60 or above (in 2007). There are different English language requirement for various states.
