Ringkasan program
With increasing competition in all sectors of employment, students who graduate with an Honours degree have a distinct advantage. It is often considered by employers as an added skill and has been used by previous graduates to pursue higher positions and salaries. They can develop and carry out research on a topic of interest, potentially leading to further academic study such as a PhD. If they have completed a Bachelor of Social Science or related discipline, and have a minimum credit grade point average, Honours will give them a distinct advantage in the workplace. An Honours year is an opportunity to consolidate their learning by undertaking advanced study and demonstrate their skills by carrying out an independent research project. It is also the pathway to research higher degree study. Common areas of employment for Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) graduates include social research, management and policy work for government and non-government agencies and the private sector relating to their major, for instance graduates of the welfare specialisation may find work with a variety of government and private welfare agencies.

Students should have credit point average (GPA 5) or higher across the whole program and/or the relevant major for all majors except Psychology. Entry to Psychology Honours is competitive and requires a minimum GPA of 5.5. Students must satisfy any one of the following English proficiency requirements whose first language is not English: IELTS 6.0 no subtest less than 6.0, ELICOS Exam (Entry Level Pass (EP) in EAP exam), TOEFL paper based test result of 525 minimum score of 4 in TWE or internet result of 80 and no subtest less than 20, PTE (Academic) score of 57 with no subtest score less than 50, CULT score of 70.
