Ringkasan program
This is a combined course satisfying the requirements for the Bachelor of Teaching and Bachelor of Arts. The course is designed for those intending to become teachers in secondary schools. A range of Bachelor of Arts sequences and units are available and students have a broad range of choice of their major and of one minor sequence. Students are advised to select at least one of these sequences from a main school teaching area. There is also a major Education sequence. The Bachelor of Teaching requirements foster the acquisition and development of the students' basic professional knowledge, skills and attitudes required of an effective classroom teacher. The inclusion of units in theology and religious education enables graduates to gain accreditation to teach religious education. The course is designed for those intending to become teachers in secondary schools including Catholic, government and independent settings. Graduates may teach in institutes of technical and further education (TAFE), vocational education, community education centres, private colleges and special education settings. This course is accredited by the NSW Institute of Teachers. Bachelor Degree graduates may be eligible to progress to a range of postgraduate coursework programs, e.g. Graduate Certificates and Graduate Diplomas and, through them and/or with relevant work experience, to Master’s degree programs.

Applicants require the equivalent of Australian Year 12 certificate and an overall academic IELTS score of 7.0 (with a minimum score of 7.0 in all sub-tests). Pre-requisites may also apply for entry into some major and minor sequences. Students completing an Australian Year 12 in NSW who do not achieve Band 4 in two units of English and Mathematics will be required to complete concurrent literacy and numeracy units within their program of study.
