This course is an exciting occupation that allows students to meet many different kinds of people and to travel. The basis of journalism is information - discovering, collecting, assembling, analyzing and presenting information. To do this effectively, journalists require highly developed skills in language, a good understanding of the media, an interest in current affairs and a broad general knowledge. By studying the BA, students will graduate with highly developed skills in written communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and interpersonal is an important tool in just about every discipline, from human movement studies to psychology to drama. To make best use of the tools available, and especially to see the possibilities of new tools, they need to understand what computers do and how to program them. Spanish is the first language of more than 400 million people and the second language of millions more in Europe, the United States, Brazil, Asia and North Africa. Due to demographic and political factors, Spanish is now a de facto second language in the United States, Brazil, and virtually all the smaller states in the Caribbean and Central/South America. Spanish is an official language in international bodies such as the United Nations and World Bank. With Australia's increased exposure to the world economy and competitive labour market, being fluent in a world language like Spanish will give highly employable communication skills. The ability to speak Spanish will also enhance travel experience throughout the vast Spanish speaking world. There is also a long and strong tradition and diversity in the areas of Spanish and Latin American literature and culture, which their courses will explore.

Students must have completed Year 12 or equivalent English. They should also satisfy the English language requirements: IELTS (overall score of 6.5; writing score of 6); TOEFL - (Computer based score of 237; Essay writing score of 4.5); TOEFL - (Paper based score of 570; TWE (Test of written English) score of 5); TOEFL - (Internet Based (IBT) overall score of 90; writing score of 21).
