This dual degree program provides students with a wide range of majors across science and arts. Students can structure their program within each degree component to include majors in their area of interest and a range of electives. This involves an understanding of the mechanisms of reactions and processes that occur at the molecular level. An understanding of the principles of chemistry underlines disciplines such as biochemistry, engineering, food science, materials science, nanotechnology and pharmacy. Some of the major areas of study are: - synthetic chemistry - the development of new methodologies to explore the synthesis of new drugs, new materials or new molecular devices - polymer chemistry - the preparation and study of new polymers with uses as materials, electronic devices, and medicine - computational chemistry - understanding and predicting the structures and reactivities of molecules and short-lived intermediates using high-level theoretical calculations and powerful supercomputers - surface chemistry - chemistry occurring at interfaces. This is important in many biological processes, in the study of catalysts, and in nanotechnology, and - spectroscopy - examining the interactions between matter and electromagnetic radiation to determine chemical structures and reactivities. Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have completed Queensland Year 12 or equivalent English, mathematics B plus one of chemistry or physics. They should also satisfy the English language requirements: IELTS (overall score of 6.5; writing score of 6); TOEFL - (Computer based score of 237; Essay writing score of 4.5); TOEFL - (Paper based score of 570; TWE (Test of written English) score of 5); TOEFL - (Internet Based (IBT) overall score of 90; writing score of 21).
