This dual degree program provides students with a wide range of majors across science and arts. Students can structure their program within each degree component to include majors in their area of interest and a range of electives. Information and communications technology drives modern science. Students that major in computer science will study the science of computing and its application to other scientific disciplines. Students who wish to develop a larger set of computing knowledge and skills can proceed to an extended major in computer science within the Bachelor of Science. Alternatively, a dual major in computational science allows for specialisation in computational and mathematical problem-solving together with significant studies in another field or science (e.g. biology or physics). Further options for students who have a keen interest in computing include the bachelor degree programs in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Multimedia Design. Students must have completed Queensland Year 12 or equivalent English, mathematics B plus one of chemistry or physics. They should also satisfy the English language requirements: IELTS (overall score of 6.5; writing score of 6); TOEFL - (Computer based score of 237; Essay writing score of 4.5); TOEFL - (Paper based score of 570; TWE (Test of written English) score of 5); TOEFL - (Internet Based (IBT) overall score of 90; writing score of 21).
