Ringkasan program
This qualification covers all aspects of waiting that are required in the hospitality industry. Students learn waiting styles from fine dining through to cafe style service. They may also be multi-skilled across more than one area of hospitality, learning how to operate a bar, pour wines, make cocktails, take orders, mix drinks and make good coffee. Entry level supervisory skills are also offered. Students will work in both commercial kitchens and the Tasmanian Polytechnic’s own restaurants and cafes that are open to the public, providing real life work experience. Pathways to further study include Certificate IV in Hospitality at the Tasmanian Polytechnic. Successful completion of the training in these courses provides graduates with the opportunity of employment as a waiter or bartender, with further career pathways in the general hospitality industry; including hotels, motels, restaurants, clubs, airlines, shipping and other catering establishments.
