The Monash College Diploma of Business is an ideal starting point for a career in business, industry, a government or non-government body or an international organisation. When they are finished, they may move into one of the many degrees offered through the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University. They must successfully complete 16 units to achieve a Diploma of Business. Students can also choose to study about the Business stream or Commerce stream. Monash University alumni are highly respected throughout the public and private sector and have high profile careers in fields such as: accounting/taxation, business law, finance, human resources, international business, government and retail. Monash College Diplomas are offered in: Art and Design, Arts, Business and Engineering. Each Diploma is offered in two parts. Their highest qualification will decide their entry point: Part 1 - Australian Year 11 or its equivalent, or Part 2 - Australian Year 12 or its equivalent (with the appropriate pre-requisite subjects). Diploma Part 1: They allow them to specialise in the subjects that are most relevant to their chosen field and their destination degree. They will develop strong skills in critical, analytical and creative thinking and a deep understanding of research techniques. If they are an international student, they may be eligible to enter Monash University in the first year of their destination degree provided them to gain the required grades in Part 1 of their Diploma. Diploma Part 2 (equivalent to first year university): They will develop the academic skills necessary to confidently succeed in a university degree. If they are an international student, they may be eligible to enter Monash University in the second year of their destination degree after they gain the required grades in Part 2 of their Diploma.

For part 1 students must be at least 16 years of age and for part 2 Students must be at least 17 years of age. The minimum entry requirements for the diploma programs are: part 1 - Australian year 11 (at least C Grade or 60 per cent)or equivalent, part 2 - Australian year 12 (VCE units 3 and 4 with a study score of at least English 25 or ESL 30)or equivalent. Students can also be met through the options in the table below: GCE O or A Level General Paper (English): part 1 - grade C, part 2 - grade C; Malaysia SPM/STPM English part 1 - A1 or A2, part 2 - A1 or A2; Hong Kong CEE English Syllabus B: part 1 - grade C, part 2 - grade C; IELTS: part 1 – minimum score of 5.5 (No band lower than 5.0), part 2 – minimum score of 6.0 (writing 6.0); TOEFL including Test of Written English (paper based): part 1 - 527, TWE 4, part 2 - 550, TWE 4.5; TOEFL iBT (internet based): part 1 - Overall: 71 Writing: 17+ (No section lower than 13), part 2 - Overall: 80 Writing: 20+.
