In this course, students will gain skills and knowledge in civil construction processes; standard industry procedures and policies; environmental issues; interpreting and processing survey data; preparing basic engineering drawings to AS1100; technical mathematics; office computer skills; computer aided drafting systems; drawing skills; basic survey methods and fabrication techniques.

Students must have completed a Year 12 of VCE studies or equivalent, including units in English and Mathematics. Mature age students (non VCE) with relevant experience may also apply. Students undertaking this course will need an interest in the application of scientific and mathematical principles to solve practical problems. Students who do not have the necessary prerequisite studies may be required to undertake additional bridging units of study in mathematics and communications.
