This course is for people who want to work in the music industry in a range of business roles such as a music/artist manager, music promoter, publisher, merchandiser or licensing manager. Students can apply specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate own work and/or that of a team. They will learn how to establish a music industry career, develop a small business; manage and exploit copyright arrangements, follow health and safety procedures and exercise music knowledge and artistic judgement. They may also develop specialist skills related to music business such as artist, event or venue management; financial, licensing, marketing, promotions or publishing management. They can also employ critical thinking and writing skills, use ICT and digital media tools. Relevant job roles may include working as a music/artist manager, music promoter, publisher, merchandiser or licensing manager.

Students must have completed a Certificate III in Music Business (19366) and audition required. English language proficiency: academic IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (IBT) 51 or Certificate III in English for Further Study at TAFE NSW or equivalent.
