Ringkasan program
This program integrates the traditional PhD training in research through the preparation and presentation of an empirical and original research thesis, with coursework and internship training in theory and techniques in clinical psychology. The program provides training for the growing number of clinical psychologists who wish to pursue specialist careers in clinical research settings, including universities, hospitals, specialist research foundations and government bodies. The program meets registration requirements for psychologists in Queensland. It is also intended that graduates will qualify for membership of the Australian Psychologists Society (APS) and be able to qualify for membership of the College of Clinical Psychologists of the APS. The program structure meets the accreditation guidelines of the College of Clinical Psychologists of the APS. The Psychologists Board of Queensland requires applicants for registration as a Psychologist for whom English is not the first or native language, to submit evidence to the Board of competency in both oral and written communication in English. Students should have completed an honours degree in psychology, accredited by the Australian Psychological Society (APS), at the level of First Class or Second Class (Division A). Candidates will also be considered if they have completed a Master's degree in psychology if the training Masters training program was APS - accredited and included a significant research component. Applicants who have completed comparable training and degrees outside Australia will be considered for admission, but are advised to submit an academic transcript to the APS which will assess whether their training is equivalent to an Honours degree from an Australian university. International students whose native is not English should have an IELTS score of 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5 or a TOEFL score of 550.
