Rincian Program

This programme bridges the gap between students’ previous English language qualifications and those accepted by Monash. On successful completion of the programme, they are admitted directly to Monash University or Monash College. The programme provides the learning environment for students to develop skills in language, self-disciplined learning and content knowledge within an Australian educational context. Classes focus on academic skills and preparation for the reading, writing, speaking and listening, note-taking and research that students will be undertaking within their Monash course. On successful completion of the programme students will have: direct entry into most Monash courses without re-sitting IELTS; highly-developed academic skills; undertaken world-class language training in a caring environment; the ability to achieve higher pass rates and higher grades on average in their course; enhanced career skills; undertaken practical and effective preparation for the demands of academic life at Monash; developed new life-long friendships. The study skills students will enhance include: critical evaluation and reflection, research skills, information literacy, knowledge management, note-taking from readings, literature review, critical thinking, editing and proof-reading, essay writing, note-taking from lectures, seminar presentation skills.
