This course brings together the disciplines of animal health and wildlife population management, developing and enhancing skills in conservation techniques for native fauna, diagnosis and management of wildlife health, and management of native and pest species populations. Wildlife health and population scientists are employed by government and non-government conservation agencies, or any other agency with natural resource management responsibilities. Other potential employment opportunities include curatorial positions in zoos and wildlife parks, in game farming enterprises, in eco-tourism operations and in environmental consultancies. Students must have completed a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification; or completion of the embedded graduate certificate in this stream, from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification. English language requirements for admission to this course: IELTS: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band or TOEFL: A minimum result of 577 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing or IBT: A minimum result of 90 overall including a minimum result of 22 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 23 in Writing.
