Ringkasan program
This program is aimed at students who wish to develop advanced skills in carrying out independent and sustained research in cultural material conservation. The course will culminate in the production of a research thesis of 30,000 words. Through this course students gain a knowledge of cultural material conservation principles, methodologies and best practice standards and also gain a capacity for articulating conservation research questions and the appropriate methodologies for investigating them.

Applicants must possess a four year BA (Honours) degree with a research component or equivalent in the appropriate area of study or closely related area. The grade for the honours thesis component must be at least equivalent to an H2A (75 per cent) and the overall honours result must be at least equivalent to an H2B (70 per cent). They must also include a thesis proposal of 600 words with their application. The primary basis for selection is academic merit, however, consideration will also be given to the quality of the thesis proposal, research potential, and the availability of an appropriate supervisor. Academic references may be required to asses the applicant's eligibility. International applicants must fulfill any one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (academic English only) score of 7.0 (written 7.0 with no band less than 6.0); or TOEFL (paper-based test) score of 600 plus TWE 5.0, TOEFL (computer-based test) score of 250 plus 5.0 essay rating and TOEFL (internet-based test) score of 94 (writing 27, speaking 18, reading and listening 13 each); or Pearson Test of English (academic) score of 65 and written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50.
