This Master by Research program will require students to research, devise and produce new works of art, or develop new approaches to arts practice. It is aimed primarily at high level practitioners from a wide cross-section of the arts community who wish to extend their independent capacity to operate in an increasingly multi-art form and technologically-based profession. The course aims to: create opportunities for innovation and creativity in the arts; use the resources of the Academy to create leadership opportunities for people who can offer the arts informed direction, and identifiable and marketable skills, to advance the Australian cultural environment into the next decade; provide opportunities for people from diverse ethnic and creative arts backgrounds to synthesize disparate artistic skills to produce innovative and creative outcomes for the arts industry; build upon and extend the traditions and conventions of the student's earlier training to create new knowledge for the arts.

Students must have a Bachelor Degree with Honours, or an approved research-based Graduate Diploma, or equivalent qualification, or appropriate research preparation. They must satisfy IELTS overall band score of 6.0 (no individual band less than 6), TOEFL minimum score of 550 including TWE score of 5 (or a Computer based TOEFL score of 213 with an essay rating of 5 or better), TOEFL iBT score of 80 with no score below 20, GCE O Levels grade C or better, WAUFP 50 percent plus pass in ELACS, TEE pass in English or English Literature, International Baccalaureate Diploma minimum Grade 3 at higher level for an English subject and other acceptable qualifications can be obtained from ECU International. There are different entry requirement for various countries.
