Ringkasan program
This course is designed to prepare professional counselors to work in a range of settings such as community mental health, community agencies, church and para-church agencies, schools, multidisciplinary mental health teams, and in private practice. The program consists of sixteen units studied over a minimum of two years covering a range of key people-helping themes including: grief and loss, trauma, the functioning of groups, drugs and alcohol, and mediation and conflict management. Graduates will have developed a comprehensive framework for their counseling practice, involving knowledge of theories and interventions in counseling, critical thinking, ethical decision-making, behavioral assessment and evaluation. A range of counselling and human service careers is available including: Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), Local Community Neighbourhood Centres, community services (e.g. Centacare, Kinnections, Lifeline), Kids Help Line, Relationships Australia, Mission Australia, regional domestic and family violence services, school counselling, government agencies (e.g. child protection, addiction recovery centres), crisis counselling centres, and private practice. This will enable graduates to become graduate members of the Australian Register of Counselling Psychotherapy (ARCAP). Graduates of this program are eligible to enrol in further studies in the form of research degrees such as Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy.

Applicants must have an overall academic IELTS of 6.5, including an individual score of 6.0 for all tests along with: Bachelor degree in an appropriate field and a satisfactory interview demonstrating suitability to undertake the course.
