This program in finance specialisation ensures that graduates are well armed with an understanding of the foundations of strategy, which come from the 'Game Theory'. The focus is towards an understanding of the complexities of modern risk management as well as the fundamentals and technical tools for all aspects of finance in a global setting. The core units cover broking and market making, advanced asset pricing, portfolio theory and applications, derivatives securities, international business finance, fixed interest securities and financial statement analysis, as well as the applications of high level financial theory to understanding mergers and acquisitions and the international market. Specific careers include: actuaries, corporate and merchant bankers, economists, fund managers, securities and derivatives traders and brokers, insurance brokers and underwriters, and taxation and management consultants.

Students must have completed a bachelor’s degree, graduate diploma, graduate certificate or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution with a minimum credit (65 per cent) average. They must satisfy IELTS minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band or TOEFL minimum result of 600 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in writing or IBT minimum result of 100 overall including a minimum result of 22 in reading, listening and speaking and 23 in writing.
