Ringkasan program
This program in cost management prepares students for a professional career in quantity surveying, cost engineering and cost estimating in the Australian and the international market. Its main technical component is concerned with all aspects of contractual and financial management in construction projects. The program objectives: acquire expertise in all aspects of contractual and financial management of building projects; learn how to engineer, monitor and control costs from project inception to completion; evaluate and offer appropriate advice on the financial implications of technical alternatives; develop the ability to apply the principles and theories of economics, law, management and statistics to financial management and control of projects; deal with cost control and management of risks in construction. Graduates are expected to work with general construction companies, quantity surveying organisations, project management firms, trade specialists and specialised consultants, institutional bodies and research institutions.

The Selection Committee will evaluate the applicant's ability to pursue the course successfully using the following criteria - completion of the Bachelor of Planning and Design (Property and Construction) at the University of Melbourne between 2005 and 2010; or an undergraduate degree in a cognate area with a weighted average of at least 65 per cent in the final two years, or equivalent. International applicants must fulfill the following English language requirements: IELTS (academic English only) score of 6.5 (no band less than 6.0); TOEFL (paper-based test) score of 577 plus TWE 4.5; TOEFL (computer-based test) score of 233 plus 4.5 essay rating; TOEFL (internet-based test) score of 90 plus no band less than 21.
