This course is designed for professionals or graduates who wish to pursue research in aspects of education related to Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Graduates who wish to consolidate research and professionals seeking to familiarize themselves with recent developments in the field or to sharpen intellectual and research skills find the course a useful vehicle for learning.

Students must have completed a relevant bachelor's degree and (a) a one-year full-time postgraduate course in education or a Cambridge/RSA Delta or Trinity LTCL Diploma in TESOL, and either two years of full-time relevant professional experience or demonstrated research capacity; or the Bachelor of Education and either two years of full-time relevant professional experience or demonstrated research capacity; or a degree requiring at least four years of full-time study, two years of professional experience in education and demonstrated research capacity; or completion of an articulated graduate diploma of this Faculty. Applicants who hold overseas qualifications must provide evidence of English competency equivalent to an IELTS score of 7.0 with no band lower than 6.5, or equivalent as recognized by the University.
