Ringkasan program
This program focusing on the development and implementation of software systems in organisations, the Master of Information Technology develops technological understanding and skills in high demand throughout the IT industry. It develops the capability to analyse and evaluate IT projects and future IT needs, apply intelligent techniques to e-business and understand the changing technical and commercial nature of the IT industry. Graduates of the program will be up-to-date with current issues in IT and have the skills to implement industry-standard technology in a variety of organisations. The MIT is designed for graduates in engineering and the physical sciences seeking professional development and enhancement of their IT knowledge, or professionals working in the IT industry seeking a formal IT qualification. Exceptional graduates in engineering, physical sciences or a cognate field can tailor their MIT program to qualify for entry into the PhD or MPhil.

Applicants should have obtained a four year undergraduate degree in engineering or physical sciences, including mathematics and at least one programming subject at the equivalent of a University of Melbourne average of at least 65 percent in the final year or an appropriate three year undergraduate degree with a final year average of at least 65 percent with at least two years of documented relevant work experience, with exposure to programming, in the IT industry. The most common requirements for international students are TOEFL 577 plus TWE 4.5, Computer TOEFL 233 plus 4.5 essay rating, or IELTS 6.5 (written 6.0).
