Ringkasan program
This course prepares advanced practice nurses with leadership skills to plan, implement and coordinate and evaluate health care, as well as formulate policy for a diverse and multicultural society. Graduates will be well equipped to contribute to the health of individuals, families, communities and the development of the profession. The program is designed using flexible teaching delivery options and provides for a range of individual career pathways, including nursing or management positions within industry, government or independent professional practice. The program can be taken by (a) coursework, or (b) coursework and a 15,000 word project, or (c) coursework and a 25,000 word thesis. Coursework studies cover research methods and issues, primary health care and health promotion strategies, caring in nursing, nursing practice and management, case management and care integration, nursing informatics, education in nursing and palliative care nursing. Tagged masters degree options are also available in the following areas: children; critical care; education; emergency; gerontics; mental health; and palliative care. These specialties prepare nurses for advanced practice roles in community, acute care and continuing care clinical environments. Leadership roles in specialist areas of nursing, education, management, research in specific and general fields of nursing in health care service, academic institutions and other organisations responsible for health service.

Students must have a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent with one year clinical experience and or a relevant postgraduate qualification, as well as relevant registration (Division 1 with the Nurses Board of Victoria). They must have achieved the following English language proficiency test results: IELTS (minimum test score of 6.5 overall; no individual band less than 6.0); Paper-based TOEFL (minimum test score of 580; a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5); Internet-based TOEFL (a score of at least 90 overall; a Writing score of at least 22; no score lower than 20 on the other sections of the test); Cambridge English CAE (A grade); Cambridge English CEP (C grade).
