The program provides research-based coursework content that is designed to provide special education teachers and administrators with up to date skills to support a wide variety of students with special needs. Many of the courses are available via distance education, with some courses available face-to-face at either the Callaghan or Renwick campuses. Career opportunities: Graduates who are qualified teachers may be employed as Special Education teachers with the NSW Department of Education and Training, other Australian state and territory public school providers, Catholic Education, and Australian independent school providers. The Renwick Centre conducts research and professional studies in the field of education for children who have sensory disabilities. It is administered by the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children and is affiliated with the University of Newcastle. Courses can be undertaken through weekly lectures, distance learning packages and/or block residential. This course is mainly focused in Blind and Vision Impairment.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students who have satisfactorily completed a four year Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent or a three year degree and a Diploma of Education or Master of Teaching. Students must satisfy any one of the following English proficiency requirements whose first language is not English: IELTS 6.5 no subtest less than 6.0, ELICOS Exam Higher Level Pass 4 (HP4) in EAP exam, TOEFL paper based test result of 550 minimum score of 4.5 in TWE or internet result of 93 and no subtest less than 21, PTE (Academic) score of 64 with no subtest less than 59, CULT score of 70.
