Ringkasan program
This program prepares graduates to teach in the primary and middle years of schooling, from years three to nine, taking into account the diverse needs of pre-adolescent and adolescent learners. It is the responsibility of students who wish to study the program part-time to ensure that they can fulfill the requirements of the program. The practicum requirements must be completed on a full-time basis. It aims to prepare professionally competent students who understand the moral, ethical and political dimensions of teaching and the teaching profession, the diversity of the communities in which they will work and the need to be guided by principles of social and ecological justice as they effect positive changes in students' lives.

Students must have completed at least a three-year degree from a recognised higher education institution, or equivalent. In addition, students must meet the prerequisites for the two learning areas in which they intend to specialise. In all cases this will be at least 2 minors in two subject areas relevant to the Learning Areas taught in years 3 - 10. A minor is equal to 18 units, commonly 4 x 4.5 unit courses. The Learning Areas include Arts Education (includes Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Arts); Design and Technology Education (includes Agriculture, Home Economics, Information Technology, Design and Technology); English Education; Health and Physical Education; Languages Education (includes English as a Second Language, Languages Other Than English); Mathematics Education; Studies of Society and Environment (includes Geography, History, Social Studies etc); Science Education. Students are advised that a successful criminal history screening clearance is required for all students prior to their undertaking any professional experience/practicum placement that involves contact with minors (under 18 years of age). International students must have an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: Overall 6.0 (with 6.0 in Reading and Writing) obtained within the last two years. Students are required to meet at least one of the English language entry requirements listed. IELTS 6.0, TOEFL PBT 550 with TWE of 4.5, TOEFL iBT 80 with no band less than 20, Cambridge CPE C, Cambridge CAE 52 (no less than Borderline in RW), CELUSA AE4, Pearson PTE Academic Bands below as per the Pearson equivalency table 59 with no communicative score less than 53.
