This course provides students with a general understanding of key concepts and issues in media and communications. Students undertaking this short and concentrated program of study will develop valuable skills of analysis and critique.

The Selection Committee will evaluate the applicant's ability to pursue successfully the course using the following criteria - they must obtained an undergraduate degree with a major cognate to the specialisation with a grade average of H2B (70 per cent) in the major, or equivalent; or a Graduate Diploma in Arts in an area cognate to the specialisation with a grade average of H2B (70 per cent) over the graduate diploma, or equivalent. International applicants must fulfill any one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (academic English only) score of 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0); or TOEFL (paper-based test) score of 577 plus TWE 4.5, TOEFL (computer-based test) score of 233 plus 4.5 essay rating and TOEFL (internet-based test) score of 79 (writing 21, speaking 18, reading and listening 13 each); or Pearson Test of English (academic) score of 58-64 inclusive and no communicative skill below 50.
