The banking major focuses on financial markets and institutions. Students will study about the developments in the financial sector and the management of financial institutions, while learning about the field of economics. They develop a working knowledge of the Australian banking and financial system with a broad perspective of the environment of business. It equips the knowledge and skills required to make productive contributions to employers early in their career. They will understand the relevant issues in the financial sector and develop the skills required to keep up with and understand new developments in the field after graduation. Careers in finance can be broadly defined to include corporate finance, financial institutions, financial markets and various branches of the financial services industry. The finance major will give them a broad understanding of the structure and operations of financial markets in management. They will learn about investment evaluation, decide how to fund activities and understand the roles played by financial markets and instruments. Graduates gain employment as investment bankers, financial analysts, fund managers, merchant bankers or stockbrokers and go on to be successful in international finance and business.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants from India must have completed All India Senior School Certificates awarded by the CBSE with an average of 65 per cent in four subjects, or Higher School Certificate awarded by one of the State Secondary Schools Board or Indian School Certificate with an average of 65 per cent in five subjects. Applicants from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Singapore. Also they should demonstrate their English language proficiency with an IELTS minimum overall band score 6.0; or with a minimum TOEFL score of 550 in paper based, 213 in computer based and 80 in Internet based (20 in each section).
