Ringkasan program
This degree is designed to give students a broad understanding of the scientific investigation of human health and disease. It covers the key aspects and principles of biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, physiology and toxicology and their application to the causes and management of disease. More specific knowledge of disease processes comes from the study of clinical laboratory specialities, such as cellular pathology, clinical biochemistry, clinical immunology, haematology, clinical genetics and medical microbiology. This enables a biomedical scientist to understand the science of the causes, consequences, diagnosis and treatment of disease. They will be equipped with the skills necessary to plan and perform a research project and be aware of the need for good laboratory practice, health and safety, and legal and ethical considerations. They will prepare them for work in a number of areas. These can include biomedical, veterinary sciences, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. It equips them with the knowledge and skills required to continue on to postgraduate study, including possible PhD study within the school and a further academic career.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants must have completed CSM Academy International’s Advanced Diploma in Biomedical Science; polytechnic diploma or equivalence in a science related field of study. They should also have an IELTS score with a minimum overall band of 6.0 or british council, GCE ‘O’ level or GCE ‘A’ level pass in English or equivalent.
