This programme provides students with a strong foundation in broad-based business education with specialised knowledge in the area of accounting and finance. Having the accounting and finance degree would springboard their career by giving them more career options. Accounting and Finance graduates will be well placed to meet the challenges in an accounting profession or in the financial sector in Singapore and overseas. Graduates will find employment at supervisory and executive levels in a wide range of business careers such as accounting, auditing, taxation, finance, banking, investment, corporate planning, strategic business planning, treasury, information systems, management consulting and forensic accounting. Students can also be employed in the accounting or finance departments of large multinational corporations and small to medium-sized enterprises. With the government’s commitment to the promotion of growth in the financial services sector, more trained professionals in accounting and finance will be in demand.

Modul program

The modules include Stage 1: Introduction to Accounting and Finance, Organisational Behaviour and Sociology of Work, The Macroeconomic Environment of Business, Business Law, Business Economics, Organisational Information Systems, Quantitative Methods in Information Management, Foundations of Marketing, Foundations of Production and Operations Management. Stage 2: Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Economics of Industry, Company Law and Administration, Quantitative Methods for Managers, Business Information Systems, Practice of Management Skills, Organisational Design, The Transformation of Work. Stage 3: Corporate Reporting, Strategic Accounting and Management Control, Contemporary Issues in Accounting, Capital Markets, Investment and Finance, International Finance, Understanding Strategic Management, International Accounting, Auditing, Taxation and Personal Finance, Management Project.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants must possess one of the following entry requirements: full GCE 'A' Levels (2 'A' and 2 'AO' passes) or Polytechnic Business diploma; or MDIS Advanced Diploma in Business Management; or Diploma from MDIS or other recognised local/overseas polytechnics or professional institutes. Applicants with relevant business diplomas may apply for exemptions or direct entry into the second stage of the programme, subject to University's approval. Other equivalent qualification may be considered on a case by case basis. All applicants must possess a C6 pass in English and Elementary Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ Levels. Those who do not meet the English requirements are required to sit and pass the English placement test conducted by MDIS or score a minimum of band 6 in IELTS conducted by the British Council or to score 213 points (computer-based) or 550 points (paper-based) in TOEFL. Applicants without C6 pass in Elementary Mathematics will be required to take the Mathematics Entrance Test set by University of Bradford (UK) at MDIS.
