This programme is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in a broad range of business knowledge required in modern management, with emphasis on problem-solving and decision-making skills. The curriculum covers the core knowledge and skills that managers and executives are expected to have in a business environment Students will be able to understand organisational structures and their interdependence and apply the relevant concepts to business situations in real-life problems. Most graduates of this programme are employed in the business, commerce, finance, human resource management, corporate communication, banking, marketing, logistics, tourism-related sectors and small to medium-sized enterprises, where they perform a variety of management and business functions.

Modul program

The modules include Stage 1: Introduction to Accounting and Finance, Organisational Behaviour and Sociology of Work, The Macroeconomic Environment of Business, Business Law, Business Economics, Organisational Information Systems, Quantitative Methods in Information Management, Foundations of Marketing, Foundations of Production and Operations Management. Stage 2: Management of Service Operations, Resource Planning, Marketing Management and Strategy, Practice of Management Skills, Economics of Industry, Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Organisational Design, The Transformation of Work, Quantitative Methods for Managers, Business Information Systems. Stage 3: Human Resource Management, Understanding Strategic Management, Services Marketing, Applied Strategic Management, International Business Strategy, Global Business Environment, Capital Markets, Investment and Finance, Retail Marketing, Electronic Commerce, Management Project.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants must possess one of the following entry requirements: full GCE 'A' Level certificate with 2 'A' and 2 'AO' passes or polytechnic Business diploma or MDIS Advanced Diploma in Business Management or Diploma from MDIS or other recognised local/overseas polytechnics or professional institutes. Applicants with relevant business diplomas may apply for exemptions or direct entry into the second stage of the programme, subject to University's approval. Other equivalent qualification may be considered on a case by case basis. All applicants must possess a C6 pass in English and Elementary Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ Levels. Those who do not meet the English requirements are required to sit and pass the English placement test conducted by MDIS or score a minimum of band 6 in IELTS conducted by the British Council or score 213 points (computer-based) or 550 points (paper-based) in TOEFL. Applicants without C6 pass in Elementary Mathematics will be required to take the Mathematics Entrance Test set by University of Bradford (UK) at MDIS.
