This programme enables students to gain an insight into the field of business and management set firmly in an international context. Key feature of the programme is the emphasis on setting the broad management disciplines in an international setting, in contrast to many 'international business' degrees that focus mainly on economics. With businesses trading across borders to an extent not previously seen, an understanding of some of the problems encountered, together with possible solutions, will help students to develop a deep understanding of how businesses operate internationally. There will be a growing demand for managers who have a global perspective, and this course equips students with a number of skills that would made them attractive to a range of employers, particularly multinational enterprises. Graduates enjoy a wide choice of employment in a foreign firm, multinational enterprise, as well as the international division of a domestic company or government organisations. Careers in international business include business development, international marketing, logistic management, travel and tourism, cross-cultural training and export management.

The modules include Stage 1: Introduction to Accounting and Finance, Organisational Behaviour and Sociology of Work, The Macroeconomic Environment of Business, Business Law, Business Economics, Organisational Information Systems, Quantitative Methods in Information Management, Foundations of Marketing, Foundations of Production and Operations Management. Stage 2: Marketing Management and Strategy, Economics of Industry, Organisation Analysis, Practice of Management Skills, Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Resource Planning, Management of Service Operations, Quantitative Methods for Managers, Business Information Systems, Psychology at Work. Stage 3: International Business Strategy, Global Business Environment, Retail Marketing, Understanding Strategic Management, Applied Strategic Management, Corporate Reporting, Capital Markets, Investment and Finance, Services Marketing, International Accounting, International and Comparative Employment Relations, Management Project.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants must possess one of the following entry requirements: full GCE 'A' Levels (2 'A' and 2 'AO' passes) or Polytechnic Business diploma; or MDIS Advanced Diploma in Business Management; or Diploma from MDIS or other recognised local/overseas polytechnics or professional institutes. Applicants with relevant business diplomas may apply for exemptions or direct entry into the second stage of the programme, subject to University's approval. Other equivalent qualification may be considered on a case by case basis. All applicants must possess a C6 pass in English and Elementary Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ Levels. Applicants who do not meet the English requirements are required to sit and pass the English placement test conducted by MDIS or score a minimum of band 6 in IELTS conducted by the British Council or score 213 points (computer-based) or 550 points (paper-based) in TOEFL. Applicants without C6 pass in Elementary Mathematics will be required to take the Mathematics Entrance Test set by University of Bradford (UK) at MDIS.
