This course is a required course for students whose qualifying English test results show that they require help with basic English language skills, especially in grammar and writing. The objective of the course is to help students to improve their English skills. By the end of the course, students will understand and use basic English grammar correctly; able to write coherent paragraphs; able to identify and correct a limited set of grammar errors in written texts. They will be aware of collocations, collect and use them in writing; have an improved academic vocabulary; improve their listening and speaking ability; and develop some independent learning skills for further language learning.
