This programme is designed to reinforce participants’ foundation in mathematics and physics and enhance their problem solving skills and techniques through lectures, tutorials and laboratory practicals. Students who successfully complete the MDIS Certificate in Engineering can progress to the Diploma in Engineering which is recognized by the University of Glasgow.

The School of Engineering is the latest addition to MDIS. It will open its door to its first batch of students in 2010. The School of Engineering’s mission is to nurture engineering professionals in diverse disciplines through delivering first-class engineering education, teaching excellence and providing opportunity for leadership development. To meet global challenges, the School will be offering two Higher Diploma in Engineering together with the world-renowned university partner, the University of Glasgow. Students, upon completion of their studies in Singapore, will have the option to enroll for a further one or two years of study on-campus in Glasgow to attain the BEng or MEng qualification.

International students should make the accommodation arrangement before they leave the homeland. There is a wide variety of accommodation options in Singapore and the type of accommodation you choose will depend on your personal budget. International students can approach MDIS for assistance on the accommodation arrangement. The Institute plan to develop the hostel within the premises and this project is part of the overall development plan to create a self-contained integrated campus for the international students. The new hostel will have 782 rooms and up to 14 suites, a 495-seat lecture theatre and an 11-stall cafeteria with a seating capacity of up to 600. The integrated hostel will be ready by 2010.
