Uraian Tempat

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Singapore Polytechnic is the most established engineering school in Singapore. It has produced more than 30,000 alumni over the last 50 years. The School offers seven full-time diploma, six advanced diploma and five specialist diploma courses. It has close to 180 highly qualified and experienced academic staff, and more than 4,000 students are enrolled in its courses. Over the years, the School has gained a reputation for providing high quality and relevant courses for the industrial community in Singapore. The courses offered are well recognised, and many of the graduates have furthered their education at both local and overseas universities. Students and staff at the School of EEE have access to some of the best and most up-to-date facilities for training and development, with numerous general-purpose and specialised laboratories. There are 11 R and D Centres, 10 laboratories for projects and close to 70 laboratories for teaching purposes.

The Singapore Polytechnic Student Service Centre (SSC) provides the following services for students who are looking for accommodation in the polytechnic's vicinity. The three types of accommodation available are shared houses/apartments, room in owner-occupied apartments and private hostels. In shared houses/apartments a group of students can get together to rent a house or a flat, and share amenities such as living room, kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Residents do their own cleaning and may have to pay their own utility bills. Room in owner-occupied apartments (mostly in housing and development board apartments) is the most common type of housing for international students. For this type of rental unit, the owner also resides in the flat. Students negotiate with owners on the use of amenities like washing machine, cooking facilities, telephone, TV, etc. Polytechnic students take a few private hostels and each has its own range of charges for room and board, and facilities.
