In this programme students will: draw on the expertise of the Artist-in-Residence and leading dramatists to create programmes for different communities. Through master classes, pick the brains of renowned applied theatre practitioners, including academics and experts flown in from overseas; leave the classroom and work with communities from a wide range of settings, such as schools, prisons and welfare homes. Collaborate with educational institutions and non-profit organisations. Intern with local drama companies and community development agencies; bring inner space to life in The Black Box, concrete theatrical space with unlimited potential to transform itself, its players and its audience. It will open the door to a variety of rewarding career options in the arts, arts education, community development and social service sectors: Drama Educator; Educational and Outreach Officer; Drama Facilitator; Programme Officer; Social Work Assistant; Welfare Officer; Youth / Rehabilitative Worker or pursue further studies. They may also choose academic pathways in drama, theatre studies, applied drama or psychology, at local or foreign universities.

Year 2 covers SC5016 Introduction to Theatre For Intervention; SC5019 Mental Health and Adjustment; SC5020 Introduction to Educational Psychology; SC5021 Introduction to Health Psychology; SC5049 Arts and Community Services Management; SC5043 Ethics in Applied Drama; SC5044 Educational Drama; SC5045 Qualitative Research Methods; SC5048 Marketing for Community Services; SC5042 Quantitative Research Methods; Elective 1; Elective 2; General Elective Module; LC8003 Social Innovation Project; LC8004 Independent Study Project and Presentation. Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants from India should have obtained Secondary School Certificate (Year 10) or Senior School Certificate (Year 12). Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to New Zealand. They should also have sufficient level of Proficiency in the English Language with TOEFL score of 550 [paper-based], 213 [computer-based] or 79 [internet-based], or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall minimum score of 6.0.
