This programme is designed to nurture an appreciation of life processes as well as to reveal the possibilities, applications and social implications of biotechnology. Graduates have the flexibility to explore several specialisation options. These enable them to seek employment as laboratory or junior technologists in the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, cosmetic, food, and food supply industries, as well as marketing specialists in start-up biotechnology companies and companies dealing with equipment and consumable supplies that support the industry. They can also pursue further studies at universities, both locally and abroad, in biotechnology, biomedical sciences and various science-related disciplines. This specialisation option provides students with the relevant skills required to support the growing food and nutrition industries, both in Singapore and around the world. They will be exposed to the skills and techniques employed in the safe production of food as well as key concepts in human nutrition. Students may also apply these skills in support of the diet and nutrition healthcare sectors.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

GEC 'O' level holders students to be eligible for admission for the course, must obtain 26 points or better for the net ELR2B2 aggregate score (i.e. English language, two relevant subjects and best two other subjects, including CCA Bonus Points). They should also meet the entry requirements of English language with the grade 1-7, mathematics (elementary or additional) with grade 1-6 and one of the subjects with grade 1-6 in science stream, design and technology, food and nutrition, engineering, electronics or computer science stream. Students who are ITE holders should have completed NITEC qualification or Higher NITEC qualification with a GPA greater than or equal to 3.5 or 2.0 respectively. In addition to this all international students should have secured minimum IELTS score of 6.0 for all bands (listening, writing, reading and speaking) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 650 (Paper- based), 173 (Computer-based) or 79 (internet-based).
